Ella - 9 months

Ella is 9 months old today. Time flies. She's a busy little lady, doesn't sit still for a minute! She keeps us on the go. She has 2 teeth that she cut right @ 8 months, she crawls like crazy and even climbs to the top of the stairs. She'll be walking in no time. Grandma and grandpa Batten got her a new toy for Halloween, it's a toy that she can ride on or convert it and push it. As soon as we put it together she was walking behind it all over the house. It was hilarious. She also loves to eat, some of her favorites are apples and cottage cheese! We tried mac and cheese for the 1st time today and she loved that too. She's really jibber jabbering now too, she says da-da and ma-ma-ma-ma and she grunts, we have no idea where she learned that. She loves to clap too, if you say "yay Ella" she'll start clapping.

5 Year Anniversary

Ben and I went to Napa Valley, California for our 5 year anniversary. We left on a Wed. and came back Sun. afternoon, it was just the right amount of time away from Ella. We had a great time, and great weather! We're already planning our next wine vacation.

Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkin Patch 10.10.09

Yesterday we took Ella to the Pumpkin Patch in Cumming, it was a beautiful farm with tons of pumpkins and mums (even Christmas tree's - we might have to go back in another month!). You could even take a hay ride out into the patch and pick your own pumpkins. We decided not to do that because it was 43 degrees!

Busy end of Summer

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted - sorry mom! We've been crazy busy lately with dad's accident, planning our trip to California and work - I don't even want to go there! Any way here are some pics. of Ella over the last 2 months :) She's crawling like crazy, pulling herself up and standing up to everything, she even climbed to the top of the stairs this week (with dad right behind her of course). She cut her 2 bottom teeth on Oct. 1, right at eight months. She did really well too, a couple days w/ a low grade fever and a little cranky, but nothing we couldn't handle! She now eats whatever we eat, doesn't like to be fed w/ a spoon anymore. We learned a trick though, if we give her a spoon to play with then we can sneak a few bites of baby food in. She eats mostly bananas, carrots, & green beans so I'm worried she isn't getting full and isn't getting a whole lot of nutrition so we keep trying with the baby food, plus we have a pantry full of it! Ok, on to the pictures...

She's not really naughty, but this is the 1st time she's stood in a crib! She's really crawling now and pulling herself up to everything, she loves to stand almost than crawl. She'll be walking in no time.

State Fair time!

We went to the fair twice this year. The first weekend was really hot so we didn't take Ella, she stayed home w/ gma & gpa Batten while mom and dad went w/ gma & gpa Sadler and Aunt Em and Uncle Pat. We took Ella the 2nd weekend, which was a lot nicer out. She loved people watching...she did so good - didn't cry or fuss once.

Ella's 6 month stats

Ella had her 6 month Doctor appointment on her daddy's birthday August 17. Ella weighed 18lbs 7ozs and is 26.7" long! She's in the 95th percentile for both height and weight.

She has been trying to crawl all month! We even had to lower her crib because she pulls herself up to everything. She can't quite pull herself up completely on her own, but will stand up to something if you place her. All she wants to do is explore. We've also starting baby proofing the house, even bought a baby gate for the top of the steps. She loves to just sit on the floor and play in the mornings and watch me get ready. She is such a good girl!

Our baby is 6 months old

Hard to believe that Ella is 6 months already. Where did the time go? She's getting so fun, she's really talking and squeeling. She's just about ready to crawl and stands up to things. She's really reaching for everything and very curious of her surroundings. She loves her puppy dog, she really pays attention to him and laughs at him. He's so good w/ her too.

We haven't gotten any teeth yet, I thought she was last week b/c she had a really runny nose and was sneezing a lot, but I was too. I think we just had a couple of summer colds. She hasn't been sick yet at all - we're very fortunate to have such a happy, healthy little girl. We can't imagine our lives w/out her - she's the apple of our eyes!

Ella loves to eat!!! She's eating all kinds of veggies, and some fruit. She likes pretty much every veggie, but some of the fruits are too sweet for her. I've been mixing the fruit w/ her cereal in the mornings and she seems to like that. I also started giving her a sippy cup, she's learning how to hold it and doing really good with it. She doesn't really drink out of it yet though.

Ella's 1st Farmer's Market

Here's a picture of Ella and her daddy @ the Farmer's Market! She loved it, she looked around at everyone - she's so curious! She loved the flowers that I bought, she grabbs for everything and has a cow when you don't give whatever you have to her! It's starting already...

I put Ella in her 4th of July outfit today b/c it was so cold on the 4th, she hardly wore it and I didn't get any pictures of her in it! She started standing up to things, not on her own, but when you stand her up to something she'll stand there - she's getting so big!

Ella @ daycare - 6 months!

Ella's babysitter Sherri sends me pictures of Ella about once a week - I love them, makes my day! The other 2 kids @ daycare are boys so I think Ella get's special attention, plus she's so happy all the time that it's fun to take her picture.

Ella's First Camping Trip

This weekend we went camping at Lake Icaria in South West IA w/ the Batten's. Grandma and Grandpa took their camper and we staying in a cabin w/ aunt Megan and uncle Jason (Megan's boyfriend). The cabin's were cute, they had 2 sets of bunk beds - BUT we were infested w/ flies! Oh well, we didn't spend much time in the cabin anyway. Ella was such a good girl, as always. She loved all of the scenery, we were right on the lake so there was lot's to see. I took lot's of pictures...we had a great time, nice and relaxing!

4th of July weekend

So I didn't get any pictures of Ella in her cute 4th of July outfit! I'll have to put it back on her and snap some pictures. It was cold and cloudy here, but both Ben and I had Friday off so we decided to take Ella swimming. She's such a little water baby!
